Certainly Folly Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Certainly Folly

Foreigners ruled country
They divided everybody
Muslims wanted separate identity
That was root cause of misery

If it was pure religion
They were supposed to be in that region
But bulk of population remained here
Making safe refuge here and there

India is federal country
With carving of states, big or tiny
No one is allowed to secede
Like U.S.A is united

Hatred shall never work
Jehad* against own brethren is not proper word
People killed while praying at mosques
Only mad man can go berserk

“It is incitement” we have heard often
“Die and go to heaven” the passage is made open
God is asking for sacrifice
Your life shall only suffice

It is selfish ideology
All countries are suffering under misery
There is no peace and harmony
To talk of such thing is certain folly

*Jehad.. holy war
