Chad Poem by Luke Easter

Chad

One bullet struck in two places,
Although thousands of miles apart,
As the fragments entered shattering your brain,
The same piece pierced deep inside my heart.

War is never an easy state,
For any family to cope,
No matter which side of the fence you’re on,
Soldiers and supporters both hope.

It’s their cross that has been given,
Them the right to stand up and bear arms,
So the cause they are fighting for,
Righteously will end without harm.

Once again the war in Iraq,
Has proven this to not be the case,
The enemy’s bullet being right on target,
Destroying the future of his face.

This scenario plays out everyday,
Then why is this time so sad?
Because the mother Vicki Field of Granbury, Texas,
Has appealed to the Internet to pray for Chad.

Modern technology is all the rage,
Salesmen no longer have to go door to door,
Yet with all of the worlds advancements.
Our children still have to go to war.

Here’s to you and your husband Mrs. Field,
Sent with a prayer in the name of Jesus Christ,
May Chad be healed by the blood of Calvary,
To live out a productively happy & normal life.
