Chained Poem by Cindy Wright

Chained

I see you and wish to fly by your side,
but am forever chained tightly down.
Sitting here longing to be free,
these chains keep a hungry grip of me.
Shadows of yesterday haunting me still
for reasons unknown I can't break from his will.
So fly gracefully and strong,
I won't hold you back from love,
Instead I will sit here and sing my lonely song..
