Change Poem by Leila Mass

Change

Rating: 5.0

Change was like a knife to my heart
When my parents divorced
And I was too young to understand
Tears escaping a little girls eyes
Asking for her father
Then i realized, it was me
Like a dying rose once bright red and full of life
Now brown and withering
It was a horrid shriek ringing loudly in my ears
Deppresion was close to capturing my soul
Seemed like the hurt would never end
Looking at the picture of my father
As the news simmers in my mind
To wake up screaming
From nightmares of death and abandonment
Life went on
But the once very wide wound in my heart
Was slowly stitched up
But never fully healed

Yes. One of the only pemanent things about life is 'Change'. I wish and pray that no child in this world ever undergoes this kind of change acompanied by pain and suffering. A 10+++ here, too.

That is a big change for children to go through. So difficult for them to understand. God bless them all. '10! ' for your honest words. Warm Wishes, Marilyn
