Change Poem by Maya fay

Change

Rating: 5.0

Things have changed
The world is not what it used to be
I am still adjusting
After many years away from this world
Locked up
For a crime I did not commit

Still I yearn to taste freedom
Hidden away from the iron gates and silver chains
For I am a runaway criminal
Trapped in another kind of gates
More lenient and free
Filled with euphoria
Which makes it easy to forget
The times I spent in darkness
Still I cherish the joyful moments

My youth was care free
But now I am a ragged man
Like a guitar out of tune
Once full of life
