Changing Time Poem by Steffi Webster

Changing Time

Through the restless dreams
And mindless songs
Future a shadow on sandy road
Breeze melding paths then gone.
Directionless drifting obscurity near
Expectations guiding only one.
With breaths so jagged and losing a price
Of a heart of a soul
Of sugar or spice.
Touch to the memory
And edit the thought,
As you slip and stumble without being caught
Twixt logic and reason
All meaning nought.
Chaos appealing befuddling senses,
Nonsense makes sense and answers unravel.
Friction on beach entrapment and chain,
Feel and rejected by every grain
Of knowledge and power,
Fruitless suffering on religious plane.
Rain on the skin but unable to touch
Shielded regardless of destiny’s name
Change is the one thing remaining the same.
