Everyday I think of what I need
Those things I know for sure God will provide
Because he said as long as I loved him
He’d never see my humble needs denied

All my life he’s kept his promise to me
In my distress, his words carried me through
So when my heart dwells on the things it needs
It knows with certainty that I need you

I need to hear your footsteps at my door
I need your time, which makes our time worth while
I need to hear the patience in your voice
I need to see your lips, which form your smile

I need the safety of your warm embrace
I need the kindness you have always shown
I need the joy I feel when you come by
I need the love you bring into my home

I need your faith in God to light my path
to live a life that’s chosen by so few
And hopefully, one day you will decide
That you’ll need me as much as I need You
