Charlotte’s Awakening Poem by Graham Derek Smith

Charlotte’s Awakening

Oh my God, it’s time to rise! Such early hour, but no surprise,
My big bad world so bleakly cold, a matching mood quick doth take hold.
I sigh a sigh of resignation, warm deep covers a real temptation
To bury myself away from strife, away from moods and gloomy life.
I nigh on yield to this temptation, but hey, a flowing realisation
Takes hold of me, evokes a glow, spreads radiance where love doth flow.
I feel his being, I feel his heat, I feel his love, our two souls meet,
We share our breath, we whisper dreams, reflective love, our future gleams.
My cold is banished, I grin, I smile, I glow in love, I ponder a while,
My world, my mood are now set free; my love for Joe envelopes me.
