Cheers! Poem by Ernestine Northover

Cheers!

Rating: 5.0

A taste of wine, a welcome gesture,
One sunny day, in summer vesture
We sit, and talk of times gone by,
To laugh, to joke, to smile, to sigh.

With a garden full of scented blooms,
And subtle warmth that fills the rooms.
Sweet melodies to tune the mind,
Thus leaving all our cares behind.

'Cheers', we say, and glasses clink.
A calming, happy and convivial drink
With friends. It's such a pleasant way,
To spend a very amiable day.

It's great to hear the laughter ringing out of your words. There is ease and joy in this piece and a relaxed ease which is contagious and quite soporific too. love, Allie xxxx

I think the rhythm of this poem adds to the cheery nature. It makes me feel bubbly! It also makes me want a cocktail.
