Chesty Poem by Ima Ryma

Chesty

Chesty the thirteenth has retired
As the official mascot for
The U.S. Marines, and so hired -
Chesty the fourteenth for the Corps.
He's still a pup, just nine weeks old,
But from a champion family.
He'll learn to do what he is told,
And serve his nation doggedly.
An English Bulldog who was named
For a Marine from World War I,
General Fuller, who was famed
For getting win work of war done.

Chesty will be and bark the cry
Always a Marine, Semper Fi.
