Childhood Poem by Colleen Root

Childhood

i remember the time
before he died
my dad pushing me on the swings
hugging me goodnight
teaching me how to ride a bike
rollerblading with me at the park
fishing with me in the warm summer sunshine
letting me ride on the lawn mower with him
its hard to believe all the things that we did
looking at clouds on those care free days
rays of sun shine down on our faces
i miss you dad
but you were my dad and for that im glad
you were the best thing ever!
