Childhood Poem by andrew cormack

Childhood

Boots slide across frozen puddles
Crystal splinters
Old air exhaled, before new.

Spring's first sunshine on face
On the walk to school
Last sunshine on back, way home.

Holiday dissolves into one cloud
Suspended in blue
No end

First day, a fight over a seat.
Tears stretch back to door
Mum gone.

This is rather sad, Andrew. Typical of a kid's first day of school but I hope Mum wasn't gone forever! Warm Wishes, Marilyn
