Chilean Mine Poem by Jim O'Donnell

Chilean Mine

Miners trap down deep inside
Fighting for there right for life
Two thousand -three hundred feet and more
Rescuers they drill and bore

Drilling there all night and day
To help those men so far away
Sixty-nine days underground
Eventually they were found

Tears of laughter and of joy
For all that hard work the team deployed
Thirty-three men one by one
Get hauled up to the land of sun

Families greet them as they reach the top
The cage goes back down it does not stop
The thirty-third man left that tomb
All will all unit with there families soon

Angels were with you all the way
Till you reach the surface this very day
God bless you all
You touched the hearts of everyone
