Chinese Lanterns Poem by Twilight Whispers

Chinese Lanterns

So I said I'd climb the Wrekin as twilight fell,
write you notes and seal them well.
I'd put them in the Chinese lanterns burning bright
and set them soaring into the night.
To Jenny I send my unrequited love -
for the times I never told you, love -
I adore your presence in my heart and
I wish I could turn back to the start.
I love you here. I love you now.
I remember your dying, peaceful vow.
I love you here. I love you now.
Don't ever leave me. I love you now.

February 4th.
For Jenny.
