​Questioning authority can be important if you ask the question respectfully and at the right time. When you question authority it can cause problems and arguments but it also can cause a perfect answer and a better solution to the problem. It doesn’t just mean you’re are trying to be rude it could mean you have a better solution to the problem at hand and want to share it, but when you do share it you have to have respect and not say it out loud in with a bad attitude. Yes, it is important to question the ideas and decisions of people in position of authority.
​First, if you question authority you can gain knew knowledge of what is going on and possibly make things better. Gain knowledge from the question and use it for something in life. For example if you don’t know what is going on in an experiment or anything it’s best to ask a question to the authority figure for the best answer. The person in charge won’t think less of you in fact they will probably think more of you and say that you would rather know what is going on than think you know something is going on and get it wrong. From the question you asked you have gained knowledge of what to do and can use the knowledge to actually do it and best to your abilities.
​Also, authority figures aren’t perfect and they can make mistakes or just put their own ideas out there and call them facts which would be wrong. For example if you are diagnosed with cancer and your doctor says there is nothing he can help you with, you won’t just sit at home and be sad you will get a second opinion from a different doctor. From this the first doctor had their opinion that nothing will help but the second one will have an idea to help you through cancer without killing you or causing harsh pain. Asking this question is important because it could save your life or even save the life of someone you know.
​Finally, authorities can be corrupt and have the wrong meaning of life. For example Adolf Hitler was a huge authority figure but you would question him because we all know that Jews aren’t bad people. In the eyes of Hitler he thought they were cruel people and needed to be extinguished from the world. In our eyes Hitler was the evil in the picture and needed to be ended no matter the circumstances. Hitler killed millions of innocent people and thought he was doing the right thing. This was important because the question led to be planning so that this never happens again and to stop Hitler from doing this genocide.
​Questioning authority is important because it leads to a higher knowledge, could save lives, or even stop genocide from ever happening again. Asking an authority figure questions can help in a great way for you if you ask the right question and keep it respectful. Those are just the few reasons why asking an authority figure questions about their ideas and beliefs.
