Choochool Tala Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Choochool Tala

Choocool Tala

Was first one my own mom?
Possibly she smiled all along
Used sexist words, so called?

Simply looking at ‘Golden Cock’

We have heard ‘boy is a dear’
Let’s be honest; make it clear

The jobs are divided as they were
There’s boss, a foreman and labor
Each has a place, duties and order

So boy meant future-commander
It was right to see them celebrate
A tool was real source for respect

I saw a rosary around it; in Cyprus

Choochool
As
A gold key

Good or bad or sexist
It’s been there; realist

Let things change and cultures
As do tool of living or murder
But see then as truth, be aware
Look at now as it is for todays
