Christmas Out Of Place Poem by Edwina Reizer

Christmas Out Of Place

Does not seem Christmas in the south
for it is much too warm.
The holly and the mistletoe
never does conform
to be among azaleas
and fragrant blooms of spring.
And when I hear the carols of snow
it is too strange a thing.

For Christmas to me up in the north
is a snowy, blowy scene.
The winter's chill and evergreens
with the air so crisp and clean
are absent in the southern breeze
and poinsettias are out of place.
Somehow I feel that southern Christmases
do not wear the face
of the Christmas times I know.
