Christmas Wishes Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Christmas Wishes

As Christmas approaches
an excited clamor reigns supreme
Holiday ads dominate
newspapers and tv screens

Young children dream of toys...
each one has their favorite
Video games and flawless dolls
send hopeful wishes into orbit

Parents have special wishes too
Hoping to provide happiness and joy
Torn between paying outstanding bills
or giving gayly wrapped toys

It is not a matter of who has been
good and deserving this year
Santa Claus may not find your house;
the economy as grounded his reindeer
