Christmas Without You Poem by Michael Peterson

Christmas Without You

This is a sad day for me and the family
Someone so young was taken to heaven today
We could not stop God's calling
New angels were called to serve, but why so young
We wonder why this has happened
How can we stop it from starting
Little ones so innocent and so dear
As Christmas comes along it's not the same
The tree decorated with your love and smiles
Every bell rings is you singing to us
The reflections of your beauty endless in time
This season will never be the same
From making cookies, writing cards
Reading Christmas stories
I cry so much without you here
The hurt so painful, my spirit gone
How will we move on with you
Remembering Christmas past
The excitement of seeing Santa
The elves so funny helping Santa
Going to the mall to pick the holiday outfit
The gleam in your eyes over the gaudy sweater
The smile you bring to every picture, just a ham
The gifts under the tree, which are yours?
Making hot chocolate and watching Christmas movies
All is gone now, in a quick flash
How will Christmas be without you, my little angel
Gray skies, gloomy weather, many tears
We lay you to rest, I dream of yesterday
You running free, laughter in the air
Now I see is your empty room, still the way you left it
Toys all around, our favorite bedtime story
No you and no prayers, no more kisses goodnight
I sit by your bedside crying so dear
My Christmas angel was taken so young
The cold settles in and the snow falling
I stare out the window looking for my lost angel
To heaven you went, in the hands of God
Look down from above and you will see
We have not forgotten you, my angel
For a special angel is on the Christmas tree
It's you, my little angel, your spirit lives on
Christmas without you is so painful
With you a top the tree bring life to us
The bright light around your smile bring warmth to us all
Angel, I cry every Christmas, missing your smiles
Deep down I know your there looking down
Saying things are fine and I am OK
Please remember me on Christmas
I am your angel and always your baby
Cry if you may, remember I love you
