Chuckie - Lincoln Park Zoo Poem by Ima Ryma

Chuckie - Lincoln Park Zoo

I am Chuckie, the chimpanzee,
She of a troop of gals and guys.
Not so big and so strong I be,
So I have to be extra wise.
The humans say I innovate,
Cuz rather than fighting the crowd
For tasty treats that can be ate,
I check other options allowed.
The humans like to play the game
Of go behind another door,
So the routine is not the same.
It seems humans have games galore.

I'm home at the Lincoln Park Zoo,
And innovating's what I do.
