Churches And Windmills Poem by Marilyn Lott

Churches And Windmills

Rating: 2.8

There’s something about a windmill
So calming, don’t you think so?
The whirring sound so pleasant
Sort of lets your inner thoughts flow

They make me feel so close to God
In a strange and wondrous way
You can almost feel His presence
I noticed not long on a sunny Sunday

On the way from church that day
I stopped along the road, you see
Just listened to that whirling sound
As I relaxed on a fallen tree

I closed my eyes for just a moment
Said, “Lord I feel close to you.”
The turmoil inside me stilled
As I chatted with my God, it’s true

I guess we need to take time out
To stop our busy world
After all, we do have the time
As our minds feel busy and swirled

And there’s nothing like a windmill
To really slow things down
Churches and windmills are similar
And the calmest places I’ve found!
