Circle(S) Poem by Spencer Zimmerman

Circle(S)

I tend to move in circles
Actions that can be hurtful
To have me change my way
What could I possibly say?

I'm the pessimistic
Egotistic type
Rolling all my eyes
At the phenomena in sight

It seems to me
So distant, so unimportant
That I should turn aside
Believing all is right

Let the thunder remind me
Tell what is inside me
To lesson up
And let go of all this pride

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Is all poetry meant to be enlightening?

Can it be a confused expression of trying to understand the unknown?

Is there room for being in the wrong? Of course!

I used to think moving in circles is harmful. I hadn't, at this point in my life, been able to understand the many different perspectives of many different perceptions.

I now realize that circles are how we all move naturally...coming round full circle. Birth being the start, death being the finish. The cycle rinses and repeats...but that is only one perspective!
