Circles Poem by Michael Arnold

Circles

they danced naked
in cool moonbeams.
their gift
to the world
where giants
now rule;
encased in metal
and concrete.
destroyers
of a planet
where once
green forests
awoke each day
in unison
without fear.
dozed in peace
beneath summer sun
until darkness
stilled them
under starlight.
only light breezes
rustling leaves
as tiny feet danced
in moonbeams
leaving circles.
their gift
to the world.
