Circles On The Sun Poem by Gabriela Duricova

In despair deeply red
And aching agony
I lay my bones to rest
Within memory of you

Instead of forgiveness
The feeling of guilt grows
Crayons use my hand to
Draw circles on the sun

Stars will not shine again
On rivers flowing back
To days of happiness
When pieces used to match

Almonds have bitter taste
Although their bloom smelled sweet
What hurts more than the truth
Struggling to break away?
