Clarity Poem by C.I. Alexandros

Clarity

My head was clear
And I was ready
Now where is the mirror
I've grown weary
I need to see who I used to be
Not too far into the past
There still has to be parts of that me
Part of that soldier has had to last

My body is breaking
Along with my mind
I feel myself sinking
Getting left behind

I know I look ready, strong, and wise
But underneath I'm screaming
My shell, a disguise

This vision is fragments of who I was
I'm lost to your power
I've got to find u I must.

How to live without love?
I've grown dark alone
Please find me, Dove
My heartache has grown

I yearn for your blue eyes
Your understanding and patience
Never once to cause rise
Only you could make sense

There's no one around me to do what you do
There's no one on earth
There's not a soul like you

'Irreplaceable' is the word
If that even describes your worth
...How I want to be heard

I want nothing more than to be where you are
I beg God bring me to you
Shine me a brighter star
Light our fire anew...

There's no love like this connection
I can't be alone
It's you I see in my reflection
Bring me home

I never got to tell u what I feel
It never really hit me
But this is more than real

How dare I turn away and think I'd be happy?
How foolish a mistake
Now I've lost me

There has to be some way to get this back
But I need you with me to be brave
Without you, bravery, I lack
To my emotions, a slave

You are the one
I've known all along
More clear than the sun
But where's my song

You can't read my mind
But yet I expect you to
I can't believe I left you behind
How dare I betray you
