Clarity In A Quagmire Poem by June FeirCruz

Clarity In A Quagmire

What a dilemma I have
Trying to sort my feelings out.
I may have mistaken gratitude for love
And now I have to take five steps back.

For months I was on cloud nine
From this whirlwind romance that I have found.
I thought it was an answer to my prayer
Till trouble started to simmer.

First, there is another woman
Who is not supposed to be an 'other woman'
She is someone you share the same house with
A former lover, but no more.

Then there is that nagging suspicion
From both of us coming from all directions.
Is there hope for us yet?
From this quagmire we both created.

So, tomorrow we will talk
For a kind of understanding we hope we can achieve
We will sit and face each other at the table of negotiations
And hope a mutual understanding will be met.

This is really great sis, and it has a definite message for everybody. The heart must be made of glass because it can break or shatter into tiny pieces. But when love comes from the soul, it is a true love and will last forever. If my man strayed too far from the palace, and 'shacked up' with his former lover, then his clothes and everything else he owned would be on the front lawn, and the locks would be changed. The imagery here is vivid, and the wording is perfect. Thank you for sharing. Love & hugs, Barbara

In my mind this poem created a feeling of fragmentation, like the disjointed thoughts that it portrays. As always you have created an atmosphere that carries the reader along with the feelings of the poet. Now I need to know if resolution was ever reached!
