Cliche Poem by Eric Niehoff

Cliche

It is said the grass is greener
But what makes green so much better?
We all fight to get to the top.
Is it because of the weather?

We say we want to change the world
But change comes from the outside.
Decide what you want, go for it.
But what is it that you will win?

Gain one thing and lose another
Who has time to consider that?
Assign value to everything.
Compromise your every view stat.

Does the end justify the means?
But what could that possibly mean?
Being accepted at all costs.
A self-destruction so obscene.

They say home is where the heart is.
So why do we leave it so much?
Is it said with a heavy heart?
Relying on it like a crutch.
