How Long Has It Been How long has it been in your rush through life,
Since you stopped to gaze at the stars?
To look at the universe
In search of Venus and Mars?

How long has it been since you felt the wind
Blowing through your hair?
Or picked up the phone to call a friend,
Just to say "I care"?

Have you told your child you love her
As you send her off to school?
Have you taken time to teach her
About the Golden Rule?

Have you done unto others
As you would have them do?
Or have you been to busy,
Doing things you want to do?

Have you driven down the highway
On a lovely summers day,
And opened up the windows
Just to smell the hay?

Take the time to smell the flowers
And to hear the robins sing.
Feel the joy within your heart
That all these things can bring.

These are the things, important in life,
The things that money can't buy.
So take the time to enjoy them now,
Before life passes you by.
