Close Poem by Kendell Cochrane

Run away with me,
to this place where
silence swallows
words
not nature.

Walk this unknown trail,
holding my hand
and I yours,
as we trespass,
on nature's private property.

Sit and watch willows
of an elderly tree
blow in the gentle wind,
as I hold you close;
body, mind, heart.

Lay with me as our
hearts beat with
identical pace;
like we're one.

Stay with me
as darkness falls,
devours our shadows,
and follows us home.
