Clothes To Wear Poem by ROGEL FRANCIS SORIOSO

Clothes To Wear

Our existence that I will compare with the field of corn
Our bodies and flesh are like the clothes we've worn
Though a person could change its clothes in a matter of hours
We could be Asian or White in the next sixty years
Changing into Black or Hispanic before our death nears
Planted in this world not having the slightest clue
What will become of his soul when the time is due
The corn planted needs sunlight and water
A necessary element required by a living matter
The soul that develops during pregnancy
A product of two lovers passion and intimacy
The soul that will eventually develop into a mature adult
Planted, grown and harvested according to season
The soul with its creativity and ability to reason
The corn that you bought from a grocery store
Our souls comparative that of the tiny little seed
Our clothes having different races, culture and breed
