Clouds Poem by Holly Jamestone

Clouds

Cotton candy in slow motion
Disguised as familiar figurines
Whose background bathed in blue
Floats toward a solar-winking horizon

Carefree and silent
They share the saltwater air
Playing vapor tag and scattering
Before their afternoon siesta

At each day's end
Their creamy white frosting edges
Melt into lemon meringue sunsets
As I photograph them in my mind

I wrap their imprint in my beach towel
Walking with them along the shore
Till the wind gently blows
Our footprints away
