Clouds Poem by Juan Olivarez

Clouds

Rating: 5.0

Sometimes as I sit and gaze,
At the clouds floating in the sky.
I'll see an old familiar face,
Someone i've seen, that caught my eye.

A President's profile, in the east,
An Indian Chief, in the Golden west,
And in the north, some mythic beast,
To the south a sailor, rides the crows nest.

Fantastic creatures, famous men,
The clouds will form so easily.
All kinds of animals, even your friends,
The clouds will form while floating free.

Just to sit outside, on a summer's day,
And watch the clouds go drifting by,
They take the faces, and move away,
Morphing, right there before your eyes.

One of the great wonders of the world,
A naturally occurring picture show.
Around the world they tumble and swirl,
As the clouds daily come and go.

6/4/10 29 palms ca.
