Clouds And Moon Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Clouds And Moon

Rating: 4.6

Moon is easy love object and sought after
Can be seen so beautifully reflected even in water
He is calm with all his expressions and remains cool
Silver rays and pure love can’t make anybody fool

if he is to be protected then it has to be done
He should be approached easily by none
Something has to be there around for his shield
If all were to stake claim for him and field

He can’t be hidden even by clouds
Clouds thunder may create loud bang and sound
Love still can be felt far off and found
Moon’s face is glittering silver white in round

It is momentary set back for moon to reappear
With all spell bound force in dreams to appear
Love is not to fade away but to realize in sense
All love birds should feel and don’t have to remain tense

Don’t blame clouds for their darkness
It is nothing but form of kindness
You should not cry for lovely and passionate moon
I have to protect him to bring to you soon

No harm will be done to his lady lovers
I too shall accompany and bless him with showers
No garden will be ruined with flowers to dry
Don’t curse for his love and make endless cry

You will have your moon along with light
He will be seen with naked eye with full sight
No one can take him away from you as right
You need not cry or endlessly cry and fight

No one shall tease you for happy dreams
You may witness silver lights in its realms
You shall claim rightfully in your possession
Must feel contended with your holy obsession

I cover moon’s face with darkness to shield
No external ill power can make him to yield
Effect fades away lovely moon face
I hide his face to escape from race

All your fears are unfounded and based on error
It is plain fact and can be witnessed in the mirror
Your fate is not sealed but decided with destiny in favor
Moon will have to come with full force and reappear

Moon will remain there as symbol of great attachment
Slight disappearance cannot be termed as detachment
Many hearts may be seeing in him virtual embodiment
Love at heart and fulfillment of desire or contentment

O, moon you appear in your full boom
There should be no doubt or have any room
Whole world looks toward you as guiding force
There should be no single tear or any remorse

Very nice poem, it has a very nice rhythm. I was intrigued by the fact that you refer to the moon as a he repeatedly, when in many cultures the moon is seen as a female entity, perhaps you could shed some light?

I am not sure as to the meaning of this poem. It seems to me it is saying that you should not judge a lover based on their looks, but rather their personality or wisdom (covering the face with darkness) , but I'm not sure what else there might be. As Andrew already said, could you perhaps shed some light?
