Mandolyn ...

coasting on lucid language

we speak in twisted tongue
at times we buckle rhyme
fall flat when hours wring us dry-

we flip off the sun
when it burns our secret handshake
pokes a hole in the side
of our inflated friendship

sleep with a lazy eye
until a storm comes in handy
to rehabilitate our overdose
of all this brain candy
