Collision Poem by Alexander Foald

Collision

As the beam of our front lights collide
In a split second of the last minute, I realize
Your eyes that stare right through the glasses
Strike me like thunder, burning me down to ashes

And of all moments, of all times passing us by
I wonder why we must meet just before we die
I want to reach your hand, respond to your scream
Thinking that all the while we must have seen a dream

‘Cause I want to tell you about my feelings
About how long we’ve been waiting for each other’s timing
I want to spend the rest of the last minute in your arms
If we were never destined to fall in love in our time

Can you hear my heartbeat when our cars collide?
Can you see me crying while throwing out myself to the night?
In my deep thought, I pray for a second chance we could have
If only I had one more time, just one more last chance for love
