Colors... Poem by James D. Faulkner

Colors...

Streaks of yellow
Illuminate the day
And toss my worries
Into the fray

Splashes of blue
Flood my mind.
Uncertainty becomes familiar,
Though uncertain at times.

Stains of red
Breed anger within,
Tempting me to provoke
My littlest sin.

Spills of green
Evident in envious eyes.
Envious lust,
Envious crimes.

Shades of grey
Depress the sky
And bore the world
With sweet demise.

Coats of black
Darkened by hate.
Learn to love
Before it's too late.

These are the colors in my spectrum.
