Colors in Life

If there is anything without a color,
you're life will begin to discolor,
The wonderful colors of the rainbow in sky,
Keeps your eyes glued, tell me why?
Because we all love colors.

Colors are for a reason,
they are always there for every occasion,
When you are born, the color is pink,
and in happiness, your parents do wink.

When you are a child, the color is Green,
Out you go to the park where you play and scream.

when you are in your teens, the color is Red,
giving a rose to your dream girl, you do dread.

When you are out of your teens, the color is blue,
You go out to dare the world, when life gives you a clue.

When you are married, the color is Gold,
Just to reassure you that you are not too old.

when you are in mid-age the color is Yellow,
when you like to be called a jolly good fellow.

When you are wiser, the color is silver,
you've seen enough of the world which makes you clever.

When you are gone, the color is Black,
your dear ones miss you, that is what they will lack.

You don't choose the colors, the colors in your life,
be assured, they will come,
to tell what you will become.

Poem of the Day

poet Dante Gabriel Rossetti

A little while a little love
The hour yet bears for thee and me
Who have not drawn the veil to see
If still our heaven be lit above.
Thou merely, at the day's last sigh,
