Come, Dear Friend Poem by Fiona Schwartzinoff

Come, Dear Friend

Rating: 3.7

Come, dear friend, it’s night now;
all the world is fast asleep.
Come! Let’s run away,
Far to the shores and deep.

Far, far away, dear friend
With no one but God to trust.
There, in the great big somewhere
Where no one may ever find us.

To the place where we can run –
No, fly! – in our very own light;
Where the grass whispers and the trees sing
And the sun is sweet and bright.

Take me now! Hell, I don’t care
About whom I may leave behind.
I want us – and only us.
Whatever else, together, we’ll find.

I want to be where no one will find us.
I want to be where no one will see.
I want to take your hands and laugh
And be in love and be yours and be free!

Take me now! Take me now!
Please! I want to be yours!
I want to break free, dear friend,
From all my cares, from all my bores!

I want to lay in the soft grass
With you so close beside me,
And feel the wind’s sweet, sweet breath
And hear the very earth’s heartbeat.

I want to taste the air that you breathe,
To walk in the peace of your shadow
I want to swim in the deeps of your eyes
And walk in your heart like a meadow.

Come, dear friend, it’s night now;
All the world is fast asleep.
Come! Let’s run away,
Far to the shores and deep.

Far, far away, dear friend
With no one but God to trust.
There, in the great big somewhere
Where no one may ever find us.

It reads a second time as if it were the first time, awakening new discoveries and metaphors that seize the heart. like And hear the very earth's heartbeat and others. That's why I had to write again. Also, this poem is finely and poetically Passionate.

Hi Fiona, An exquisite poem of love. Emotions flowing from the heart. Only those who are in deep deep love can feel the wind's deep deep breath and hear the very earth's heartbeat! Inimitable way of presenting your love. One of the best poem of love I ever read. Congrats.10+

it's a lovely poem of longing. Love is so private and selfish that you don't want to share and like to enjoy the same in a solitary bay by running away...... very nice love song You may read my poem MY MORNING BUD OF ROSE
