Come On Back America Poem by Kathryn King

Come On Back America

Many years ago our nation, stood upon the laws of God.
They were tireless in their efforts to protect their blessed sod.
Our people knew what freedom meant when tyrants stood in rage.
They called upon God's name established justice for every age.

Come on back America, to the God that loves you so.
Come on back America, your very life may one day go.
It doesn't matter how much you've sinned before
It doesn't matter how far you've gone.
He'll forgive all your transgressions
The blood of Jesus will make you strong (God of your Fathers will…)

When I look at our great nation and the trials it's been through,
from wars and civil riots, immorality and pestilence too.
There're so many people wanderin' to and fro in a day that looks so gray.
But God in His mercy will hear your cries if you'll humble yourself and pray.

Like the prodigal son of long ago left his family and wealth behind.
America's forgotten her source of greatness, has kind of lost her mind.
But God in His glory and power can turn her heart toward Him.
If we'd forsake and repent of our sins, this nation could be great again.
