Come, Write With Me! © Poem by Roann Mendriq

Come, Write With Me! ©

Come, write a story, come, tell me a tale
of how the wind whispers, of its wild wail;
Write of the shadows that fly with the waves,
beneath the cold sea to dark secret caves.

Write of the saga, etched in purple skies,
the life of a star, the moon's watching eyes;
Write of the flowers, that grow by the wayside,
of dances, romances, of each flower bride!

Write of the pathways, those seldom taken,
Write of the rosebuds, before they awaken!
Write of the fancies, of the blowing breeze,
Write of the trees, Oh! do write of the trees!

Of how they reach high, to touch the white sky,
Of how they dig deep, and rustle and sigh.
Oh write of the trees! of the songs that they sing,
to the tune of a heartbeat, beneath a bird's wing.

I would write of these all, I would write to be free,
If only you would, come, write with me...
