Comeback Yesterday. Poem by Eric Zinbabora Batung

Comeback Yesterday.

When visions were like daydreams.
Reality from a distance was like a mirage.
Calls from a beloved voice,
sounded like echoes of silence.
The embrace of two hearts,
Like holding unto a dream.
The caresses of warm hands,
Like the passing of sea-breeze.
Yet it is all a reality,
That the sea does sink it's wet lips into the shore's.
And so we held on in embrace,
While silence spoke all through.
Today I can still hear my heart calling out;
Comeback Yesterday.

All these were but in the silence of singing night birds.
Reality had began exposing itself.
The boundary lines of destiny fell in their proper places.
The king and queen took their rightful seats,
Stealing glances at each other.
Passion and tension engaged in a fierce battle.
Distance was but a heart-beat away.
Even now, memories of a night long passed,
Bounce back freshly as if it was just yesterday.
And my heart keeps calling;
Comeback yesterday.
