Comforting Words
Branded with a smile.
I am a delusion in disguise.
People have a tendency to like my vibe,
And you are lead to believe everything is alright.
My life seems all hunky dory.
But do you know I've got problems and worries.
Feeling like a failure to my father,
Don't know if I'll ever recover.
The expectations are high,
All I wanted is for you to empathize,
Just for you to say everything is alright.
I need, not to hear your well rehearsed criticize.
I know I have disappointed.
A million and one reasons to explain my incompetence.
But to you it is a set of nonsense.
Making new rules and sanctions,
As if they would solve the problem.
So much weights on my shoulder,
Sometimes I just want to rest,
Please bear with me because I am not always capable of doing my best.
'I am a delusion in disguise' means that your perception of me is a lie
such a sinvere confession, of hellessness, incompetance..expressed so beautifully in humble lines. Love it! thank for sharing poet! ! ! a sure 10++++++ it deserves! !
This is a great poem with strong metaphors. Keep writing. Don't give in to the unseen.
Anita, we tried our best and that always be the best u know....dont compare what we can do with other, maybe we cant offer as good as they are but we always have something better in some thing, look forward your life in different way, i believe we have a lot of good things to smile...This was a good write :) comforting words for yourself and hopefully it did comforting your soul equally :) Nice penned buddy, thanks for Inviting :) _Unwritten Soul

It's a great poem but what do you mean 'delusion in disguise'? it's not that I'm criticising you but I genuinely find it frustrating when I can't understand a metaphore!
