Commencementality Poem by Ima Ryma

Commencementality

Go forward young and leave behind
The times and places fate bestowed.
Whatever learning filled the mind,
Some seeds for future have been sowed.
Do not expect a life that's fair.
Uncertainty is all that's sure.
But hold inside the will to care,
As youth transitions to mature.
The if and when should come to be,
But may not be the if and when
Desired, due to uncertainty.
Judge outcome by what is within.

Think thoughts of doing good and true,
And keep such thoughts through life and do.
