Compassionate Poem by Vera Sidhwa

Compassionate

Compassionate

If your heart were an open book
I'd see a million tears
For your feelings about your fellow beings
For your feelings about their fears.

I saw the compassion in your eyes.
It blurred as I watched it.
Your eyes told a story
Of the feelings arising in it.

Of compassion I speak.
I realize it.
Our fellow man
Recognize it.

My compassion for you
Knows no bounds.
I would rather
See you happy.
