Confident Poise Poem by Brent Terry

You are so different from the rest
Confident, and carry yourself with a poise that’s so attractive
Guess I didn’t know I was obsessed
You’re one-of-a-kind, and there are a few things that strike me:

The way you quickly look over a menu and know what you want
The way you can strike up conversation with anyone
The way you walk as if you always know where you’re going
The way you plan and anticipate the details of all you’re doing

The way you take the time to dress exactly right for the occasion
The way you haven’t a single nervous habit
The way you turn any sad conversation into a positive one
The way you smile with your words over the phone

And now I can no longer date the indecisive, slouching, and shy
The non-detail oriented, underdressed, hair flipping, or depressing
After some time I’ve finally realized this and why
It’s not fair, but this is what you’ve done to me

No problem setting your standards high before you begin to fly. No more EMOs for you. Don't let the next one slip by.
