Confined And Freed Poem by Austin Jones

Confined And Freed

Rating: 4.5

I am confined
Inside of a prison
Built on my mistakes
They have held me ransom
Squeezed me dry
I am confined
Forever gone to you
I am confined
They hold me down
Beat me up
Make me submit to their haunting
To them
Confined
Inside of me
Tearing to get out
My mistakes, my sins
Living their own lives
Contradicting mine
Confined
I am confined
Sold out to them
Horrible oppression
Weighing down
On me
Crushing me
Beneath their weight
Pushing me their way
I am confined
Yearning to be free
And yet
They loosen
Their grip is gone
I have finally
Been set
FREE
So wondrous
So beautiful
FREE from even my most weighty sins
Alive
And feeling
FREE
No more of that dark despair
That which confines is dead and forgotten
FREE
From all
I have outlasted
Ran away
To fight another day
Free to live
Free to love and go as I please
Free from all oppression
Free from pain
Free from hurt
Finally
Free
