Consecrated Credos Poem by Samantha Jenks

Consecrated Credos

Ill lay my sins at your feet
Though you won’t empathize with the motive within me
Ill repent and ask of a beginning I won’t prize
Did you know the destruction concealed within a tear
I’m so shallow and hallow, after carving out the life
But In the darkest life I’ve found my light

Oh I’ve had an epiphany you see
You’re not quite the angel I thought you’d be
I’ve had an epiphany, prove
Your crucifixion on cue
The angel to defeat you

Reprise my countenance
And sheen this facade
The stroke of terror left a shattered hole
Breathed the breath of life from the soul
But the beating heart found refuge inside me

Oh I’ve had an epiphany you see
You’re not quite the angel I thought you’d be
I’ve had an epiphany of pure candor
The angels are imploring as we open Pandora

The self affected confliction
You’d kill for your salvation
But can’t you see there’s a problem with your conviction
The notion of holiness is your misconception
The credos you weave deceived eternity

Oh I’ve had an epiphany you see
You’re not quite the angel I thought you’d be
Oh I’ve had an epiphany you see
It came to me in a dream
I’m the angel you’ll never be

The dissertation is simply this
You want me to get lost with you
Find parallel in your opposing view
But will you listen to me?
Open your eyes to the counterfeit plea

It’s the birth of beauty
Draped in rage and fury
Rhythm of the tongue to weave
Laced up lies inside
Imitate a figure and mold
The ethics of life around a ghost
