Consumable Love Poem by G. Akanji Olaniyi

Consumable Love

Stranded on the shore of love
Left my heart away alone
Shredded in combats with men
Homo sapiens, devourers of love
To excrete hatred look-alikes
Is love a consumable?
Of the nature of solid foods
Fluidic liquids
Or sniffing flow of gas
Neither and none
The abode is the heart
And the eyes; the light
Gateway resides in the mouth
The love that is blind
To colours
To faith
To tongue
To success
To failure
To class
A non-consumable
Durable and lasting
Then, I must go find my heart! ! !
