Contagious Poem by Izik Alcox

Contagious

It's happened, happened all over again
I've seen myself through my mirror
Now I'm lost within myself
Piercing my eyes with my eyes
It seems sometimes like nothing is coming my way
There you are, right where I left you
I've seen you there plenty of times before
But now it's become a sort of obsession
Seeing you is more and more contagious
Leaving my mirror behind,
I don't have to stare into my eyes
I have yours and yours have mine
My mirror effect is getting jealous
There you are right where I left you
I've seen you there plenty of times before
This obsession is turning into a compulsion
Of distortion and perhaps an emotion
Just a contagious obsession
With no lack of emotional distortion
Your eyes don't like mine anymore
No no more, this obsession of mine
It's been nothing more than a contagious lie
That you've placed into my eye
And now I return unto my mirror
With a tear running down so clear
A tear for you, one you don't want
You send it back in form of a taunt
