Contain This Piece Of Me Poem by njiri wambui

Contain This Piece Of Me

How to tame it my biggest task
and now I ask
Contain it in the biggest cask
Let it beat in silence
And not embarass me its bearer
My burden it has become,
As it leaps in bounds of joy
Here you come again as I refrain
to let you peek at this heart

A piece so small, yet not thinking straight
Important, yet I could hide it under
For the shame it smears
Why does it beat for you, yet it belongs to me?
I wish I could restructure this heart
that is my biggest discomfort
